Monday, February 15 is a student holiday for both Bryan and College Station ISD. This is 5 weeks and 1 day from show day, March 22. This means if bunnies were kindled on time, they will be one day shy of 5 weeks old. Every precaution will be taken by the validation committee to ensure that that the health and safety of the bunnies are of our highest priority.
Personal identification tattoos are required in the rabbit's left year. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure this personal identification tattoo is done prior to show day (March 22). The personal tattoo does not have to be done at validation, but you will need to know what that will be at validation. You will need to complete a validation form to disclose what personal identification tattoo for each rabbit validated will be to verified at the show. Sharpie markers are NOT permanent personal identification tattoos will not be accepted at at the show. Personal identification tattoos will not be offered at validation. if you need personal tattoos, please let us know so that we can make arrangements.
The BCYLA Rabbit rules state that Rabbits must be 3-5 pounds (page 48, item 2). The rule book also states that upon judging the rabbits will be judged using the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) Standard of Perfection( page48, item 3). The ARBA passed new weight limit rules effective February 1. The BCYLS rule changes were due prior to the new ARBA being in effect. We will follow the weight limits set in the posted rules in the rule book of 3-5 pounds.
